Pictures from the recent Southland 2011 show, the NAPM Open House held in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of Trainfest, and CASA Polar Expressat Joliet Union Station are now available!
We are focused on HO-scale model railroading and are actively building a modular in-club layout based on Free-mo for easy expansion and changes, to include new ideas from members, and to keep things fresh. We participated in the 2010 Free-mo layout at NTS (and plan to be in Grand Rapids in 2012!) and do joint setups with local groups like the Northwest Train Masters and Bolingbrook Model Railroad Club.
We work for a club experience by working together; sharing knowledge, helping members each other, and learning from members with different experiences and ideas. No need to be apprehensive about new technology or ideas; odds are someone has some applicable experience they would be willing to share or we can work together to figure it out!
We are also actively working with other clubs in the Chicago area to encourage, promote, and host multi-club events for even larger groups of modelers can get together and increase our enjoyment of our hobby (keep an eye out for future events on this topic!).
Our club is in Elwood (just south of Joliet) at the SW corner of IL Route 53 and Millsdale Rd (23954 S. Chicago St - south of the race tracks / just north of Mr. B's).
Times are Tue/Thurs 7-10 and Sun 12-5 (approx). Meetings and modeling clinics on the 1st Tues starting at 7:30PM.

The WCMRRA will be participating in a 4 club 60 X 100 foot modular layout. Participating clubs include the Northwest Trainmasters, the Bolingbrook Model Railroad Club, and the Arlington Heights Modular Club. The layout will include many modules from each group and include two major yards, double and single track running, two branchlines, and ample industries to support operating sessions.

National Train Show
Grand Rapids, MI
July 29 - Aug 4, 2012
The WCMRRA will be participating in the Free-mo layout at the 2012 NTS held in conjunction with the NMRA National Convention in Grand Rapids summer of 2012. We'll be arranging for easy truck/trailer transportation of modules from the Joliet area to the show and if you would like to participate, contact Chris Herzog at chris.herzog@gmail.com for more details and to coordinate with the group. This should be a great Free-mo event; the 2010 event in Milwaukee featured over 150 modules from all over and the 2012 event looks like it could be even bigger!
